The Benefits of Being and Learning in Nature.
- Pamela Saterdalen Biodynamic gardener, gymnast and cooperative and competitive games teacher at Highland Hall Waldorf School. Pamela is currently training 5th-8th graders for the Southern California Pentathlon, Medieval Games & track meets.
Join her for a teachers training experience of age appropriate movement for grades 1-12. This is a participatory class. Please wear comfy shoes and be prepared to have some fun. Bring your questions ... no prior experience necessary.

- Randy Moore Father, grandfather and the Pacific Southwest Regional Forester for 18 National Forests in California. Moore is also responsible for State and Private Forestry programs in Hawaii and the affiliated Pacific Islands, covering one-fifth of the state or 20 million acres of land.
Among many other positions and experiences, Moore has also had national-level experience in Washington, D.C., having served as acting Associate Deputy Chief; acting National Deputy Soils Program Manager; and participating in the Legislative Fellows Program working with U.S. Senators. Join Moore as he shares some of his amazing wisdom about the importance of nature.

- Mimi Devens, LCSW As a Waldorf trained counselor and psychotherapist in private practice in Los Angeles, the issues Devens most commonly addresses are: overcoming anxiety and depression, developing compensatory strategies and improving cognitive functioning for those with attention issues, navigating life transitions and working in harmony with children's temperament.
Join Mimi as she discusses the benefits and risks associated with media's influence on children across the developmental spectrum, how to navigate the challenges of parenting in a commercial culture and how to make conscious choices for our children and family based on individual values rather than societal, cultural and peer pressure. Bring your questions, concerns, experiences and wisdom - it takes a village and we are it.


- Alessandra "Lisa" Profumo M.A. This mother of three, Educational Psychologist brings thirty years experience to the day's events. She has taught in both Waldorf and mainstream institutions and has given workshops and lectures locally and nationally on a wide range of topics including children in crisis, how to nurture the bridge from home to school and curriculum studies for teachers.
Lisa has worked as a mentor, consultant, and advisor for both schools and families alike. She is currently a Teacher at Highland Hall, as well as at the Waldorf Institute of Southern California.

Anna Getty Chef, author, actress, mom, Kundalini yoga teacher, holistic lifestyle expert and founder of Pregnancy Awareness Month! (PAM), an organization that empowers women through education and inspiration.
This year Anna added author to her impressive resume with the release of her first book, I'm Dreaming Of A Green Christmas - just in time for the holidays. Her second book, Anna Getty's Easy Green Organic (cookbook) is due out in the spring of 2010, which will bring together her years of experience as a chef, with her knowledge of healthy eating.
- Dr. Alan Greene Father, pediatrician, Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine, President of the Board of the Society of Participatory Medicine and on the board of directors of Healthy Child Healthy World, and the Organic Center.
Dr. Greene is the author of many popular health and parenting books including Raising Baby Green and Feeding Baby Green. He has been featured in the New York Times and has appeared on The TODAY Show, Good Morning America - Health, among others. He was also honored as one of "the 100 most creative and influential innovators working in health care today," named the Children's Health Hero of the Internet by Intel, and in 1995, founded of the consumer health Web site DrGreene.com.
- Ashley Koff RD Registered Dietitian (R.D.), and founder of Ashley Koff Approved (AKA), a well-respected stamp of approval for healthy nutrition. Koff is a health advisor on The Huffington Post (HuffPost) and a regular contributor on ABC's Good Morning America Health (GMAH). This year in partnership with both media sources, Koff has helped create the HuffPost Living Energy Makeover contest. She and the winner will appear in a monthly segment on GMAH.
Koff shares her expertise in her book Recipes for IBS (Fair Winds Press 2007), a cookbook and treatment plan for digestive wellness, as well as through her private practice, nutritional endorsement opportunities, consulting with studios, restaurants and many other avenues. CitySearch has been named Koff "LA's Best Nutritionist" for the past three years.
- Anni Daulter MSW Mother of four, author, natural parenting expert, and baby and toddler food chef. Anni Daulter is the founder of Bohemian Baby fresh organic baby food, Sunshine Family Organics and most recently, Conscious Family Living.
Starting early with cooking fresh organic foods for babies and toddlers will help set up healthy eating patterns for a lifetime and naturally expand baby's palette!
Anni's first book, Organically Raised: Conscious Cooking for Babies and Toddlers (Rodale) is due to be released on May 11, 2010.
- Chris Taylor Producer, Director and co-founder of Positively 25th Street a production company dedicated to creating original documentary programming with social and cultural significance. The first project, Food Fight premiered AFI Fest LA in November of 2008, and to date has won over 12 awards for its excellence.
The documentary presents a clear history around the birth of the Industrial Food Revolution brought on by World War II, while inspiring us to take action in bringing back nourishing local foods to center stage. Food Fight also reminds us of the benefits that food and community hold in restoring an often-lost connection between people and the earth.
